North America has an amazing diversity of ecosystems, and a corresponding diversity of wildlife. Most of my best photos are focused on the American west, with a particular focus on Yellowstone. However, I’ve photographed wild animals from Alaska to Florida and a wide assortment of places in between.
These are my favorite critter shots, but more can be found on my SmugMug.
“Morris,” a young bull moose who visited our house repeatedly one winter
A bighorn sheep seen near Big Sky in Montana
A desert bighorn sheep in Utah. (Desert bighorns are smaller than the ones found in the mountains.)
A great gray owl in a tree outside my house
“Hey, Jerry, I’ve got the feeling I’m being watched!” (A brown bear in an Alaskan lake watching three mergansers pass by.)
